Minneapolist & St. Louis 457 is on display at East Park in Mason City, Iowa. This handsome 2-8-0 along with the 471 (which is in Minnesota) are the only surviving "tootin Louie" steam power. The 457 has been painstakingly restored with volunteer labor and knowledge, and, except for boiler jacketing is complete. The display pavilion which simulates a train shed provides a protected secure home.During posted hours, access to the locomotive is open and the display pavilion has been designed to allow for photographing the engine. Thanks to Dennis Wilson of Mason City for allowing me in to take pictures early on June 1, 2008.
