Just after the train in the previous image cleared, CSX Road Mate 2332 was the lead unit of an eastbound autorack traversing the S-curve near Meyersdale, PA in July 1998. The 2332 is an exEMD GP-35 which has had its prime mover removed. To compensate for the lost weight ballast was added and most access doors were eliminated. The unit draws power for its traction motors from the other units, thus providing more tractive effort but lower speed. Since the unit is leading it obviously retained all of its controls and mu capabilities. Unlike yard slugs this unit has retained its dynamic brakes.
